Putin celebrated Christmas in Novo-Ogarevo with the families of Heroes of the Russian Federation who died in the Northern Military District

On Christmas Eve, President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the families of Heroes of Russia who died during the military operation, his press secretary Dmitry Peskov said. The event took place at the Novo-Ogarevo residence. At the Christmas service, Mr. Putin, together with the families of the victims, is in the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands, which is located on the territory of the residence.

As a Kremlin spokesman said, during the New Year holidays, a program of visits to various exhibitions, performances and other festive events was organized for the families of the victims as “personal guests of the president in Moscow.” On the evening of January 6, at the residence for the children of the deceased SVO participants, they organized “a short tour of the stables and told about the horses that live there.”

“After this, the president had a fairly detailed conversation with the families, communicated with both widows and children,” Mr. Peskov told reporters (quoted by Interfax). After this, the president invited the guests to a gala dinner.

Vladimir Putin for the last time met Christmas in Novo-Ogarevo in 2022, in 2023 on the night of January 7 he was in the temple of the Moscow Kremlin. Previously, the president more often celebrated Christmas in churches outside the capital region.
