Deputies of two parties in Germany called for attacks by German cruise missiles on targets in Russia
Deputies of two German parties declared the need to attack targets on Russian territory, including new regions, with cruise missiles. Parliamentarians also once again called on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to transfer German Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
The representative of the Green Party in the Bundestag on defense policy, Sarah Nanni, said in an interview with the Rheinische Post that the supply of cruise missiles to Kyiv is long overdue. She also said that the most effective defense against Russian airstrikes would be to fire at targets inside Russia and “in the occupied territories of eastern Ukraine, from where Russia launches its attacks.” At the same time, Nanni is confident that such strikes comply with international law.
The same position was voiced in an interview with the publication by a member of the Bundestag from the opposition Christian Democratic Union, Roderich Kiesewetter. In his opinion, long-range missiles will help Ukraine, in particular, destroy the Crimean Bridge and the Black Sea Fleet, which will allegedly force Russia to leave Crimea.
Earlier it was reported that the President of Ukraine, in an interview with Western media, said that battles in the Black Sea would become the center of attraction in the 2024 military campaign. For this reason, Zelensky again asked his partners for supplies of German Taurus cruise missiles, which “are capable of exploding deep inside the target, which could help Ukraine destroy the Crimean bridge.”
