Putin called the denazification of Ukraine a key task

The denazification of Ukraine is one of the main tasks for Russia, President Vladimir Putin said at the SPIEF plenary meeting.

“We have every right to believe that the task we have set for the denazification of Ukraine is one of the key ones,” he said. Putin also noted that “we are obliged with this [неонацизмом] fight”, because “Russia is the most affected country in the fight against Nazism, we will never forget this.”

The president announced the priority of the denazification of Ukraine at the very beginning of the special operation on February 24 last year. In addition, he called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization of the neighboring state, the goals of its holding. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia.

In early May of this year, the chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin informedthat the number of officially recognized victims of the crime by the Ukrainian authorities since 2014 is more than 126,000 people.

The head of the UK then emphasized that the damage caused to the civilian infrastructure of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as a result of Ukraine’s actions is now estimated at over 228 billion rubles, but this figure is not final, since not all objects have been analyzed yet.
