Vladimir Putin, answering journalists’ questions after the SCO summit in Samarkand, said that there was nothing “most important” at his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. “It was our usual ordinary meeting,” Putin said, recalling that he had not personally met with Xi for a long time.
The President said that during the talks, he and Xi noted a significant increase in trade and discussed what needs to be done to further expand it.
In addition, they discussed ways to counter trade wars and illegitimate restrictions, the need to expand trade in national currencies, large projects that are already being implemented, as well as future infrastructure projects “that will allow unblocking commodity flows.”
Putin also said that issues related to the crises were discussed in a benevolent and principled manner.
