Russia should think about exporting its space services to the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS, says Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I consider it important to more actively develop the export of our space products and services. I ask the government to submit specific proposals for organizing such work,” the president said during a meeting on the development of the space industry.
The head of state noted that the markets of Asia, Africa, and Latin America are now developing more actively, and organizations are ready to form new segments of the economy and increase their technological potential. Russia, he said, should support this desire.
Putin also proposed expanding the availability of key space services for citizens, businesses and government at all levels. The government has been instructed to develop and approve a national project for the development of space technologies and services by July 1, 2024.
Earlier, the President at a meeting with young scientists and space industry specialists stated about the interest in attracting private companies to joint work in the space sector.
In the summer, the president instructed Roscosmos and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects (ASI) to consider the issue of creating spacecraft for extremely low orbits.
