Putin awarded cosmonauts Fedyaev and Petelin the title of Heroes of Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the title of Heroes of Russia to cosmonauts Andrei Fedyaev and Dmitry Petelin. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of state on Friday, April 12.

The order notes that the cosmonauts were awarded the corresponding title for the courage and heroism shown on the International Space Station. With the same documents, they were awarded the honorary title “Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation.”

Also awarded the Order of Gagarin were female cosmonaut from Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya and Russians Oleg Novitsky and Sergei Prokopyev. They were nominated for an award for their great contribution to the development of manned astronautics and the courage shown during a long-term space flight to the ISS.

Let us remind you that the day before the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko awarded the title of Hero to Marina Vasilevskaya. The head of the republic presented her with the appropriate medal and astronaut certificate.
