Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decree about awarding the 43-year-old head of the administration of the Shebekinsky urban district of the Belgorod region Vladimir Zhdanov with the Order of Courage.
According to the document, the official was awarded for courage and dedication shown in the performance of civic duty. Vladimir Zhdanov has been the head of the Shebekinsky city district since the fall of 2018, before that he led the governor’s administration.
Shebekinsky city district last weeks exposed massive shelling from Ukraine. Several residents were killed and injured, dozens of houses and cars were damaged in the city. The authorities of the region have opened several temporary accommodation centers in the districts for those who leave the Shebekinsky district. The largest point in Belgorod for 1 thousand people is full. At the moment, there is no electricity in the city of Shebekino itself.
The day before, Mr. Zhdanov, during a live broadcast on “In contact with” called the inhabitants of the district strong in spirit and urged them to take care of themselves. “Remember such a popular slogan “Shebekino does not bow”? – said Vladimir Zhdanov. – If earlier it sounded in the context of a grammatical dispute, today this is a statement of a different nature. And no one argues with him.
