President Vladimir Putin awarded the title of Hero of Russia posthumously to private Dmitry Egorov. As the Ministry of Defense previously reported, a serviceman died in battle near the village of Novomayorskoye, Donetsk People’s Republic. Decree published on the legal information portal.
Press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported about the death of Dmitry Egorov, a private of the 155th Separate Guards Order of Zhukov Marine Brigade with the call sign “Suntar”, October 7.
“Having assessed the situation, Private Egorov took an advantageous position and was one of the first to engage in battle with a superior enemy. During the battle, with continuous small arms fire, Dmitry eliminated part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ assault group, forcing the enemy to retreat,” the Ministry of Defense reported. In the battle, Dmitry Egorov was mortally wounded.
Dmitry Egorov was awarded the title of Hero of Russia “for the courage and heroism he showed in the performance of his military duty.”
