President Vladimir Putin at the All-Russian Congress of Judges noted the high burden on the judiciary. “The Supreme Court consistently follows the path of sentencing not related to deprivation of liberty. The number of convicts decreased by 22%,” the President said. The head of state noted that even during the pandemic, Russian courts continued to operate as usual, and this was not the case in all countries of the world. “The rights and freedoms of our citizens are guaranteed by the Constitution, they are inviolable. And this should not be forgotten,” Putin said.
