Putin assessed the prospects for restoring relations with London

Moscow and London previously managed to build relations to ensure stability in the world, but the current state of affairs is well known. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, December 4, at the ceremony of presenting credentials to citizens by ambassadors of 21 foreign powers.
Putin recalled that after the Second World War and until recently, Russia and Great Britain managed to interact based on their special responsibility as permanent members of the UN Security Council for maintaining global peace, stability and security.
The Russian leader expressed hope that the situation will begin to change for the better – in the interests of the peoples of both countries.
Earlier in Ukraine they talked about the critical role of London in the aggravation of the international geopolitical situation. The head of the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada, David Arakhamia, called former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson the man who convinced the Ukrainian leadership abandon the peace agreement with Russia in the spring of 2022 and continue hostilities.
At the same time, the new British Ambassador to Moscow, Nigel Casey, said that for London now, “perhaps more important than ever” maintaining relations with Moscow and the Russian people.
