Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, expressed gratitude to all the mobilized and volunteers who joined the ranks of the armed forces.
“I want to thank everyone who joined the armed forces. I want to thank them for their fidelity to duty, for their patriotism, for their firm determination to defend our country, to defend Russia, and therefore, my home, my family, our citizens, our people,” said the Supreme Commander. He asked Sergei Shoigu to convey these words to the troops.
During the meeting, the head of the defense department informed Vladimir Putin about the completion of partial mobilization measures. The President of Russia noted that it is necessary to “adjust all components” of the armed forces, based on the experience of the special operation in Ukraine.
As part of the mobilization, 300 thousand people were called up. According to Sergei Shoigu, today, October 28, 13 thousand volunteers were sent to the troops. On October 4, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced that the Gosuslugi portal had received more than 70,000 requests to become volunteers. Since the beginning of the special operation in Russia, more than 40 volunteer units have been created.
