Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees on the appointment of atamans of two military Cossack societies. The documents are published on the website for the publication of legal acts.
Ataman of the Siberian Military Cossack Society President appointed Andrey Timoshenko. On the portal “Russian Cossacks” it is said that on September 22, 2023, he was elected as the new chieftain of the society. He also served as assistant to the governor of the Omsk region.
Ataman of the Ussuri Military Cossack Society by decree Alexander Agibalov was appointed president. In 2021 it elected Ataman of the Sakhalin-Kuril District Cossack Society.
