Putin approved fines for false information about critical infrastructure facilities

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which the provision of false information about critical information infrastructure (CII) objects imposes administrative penalties in the form of fines of up to 100 thousand rubles. for legal entities and up to 50 thousand rubles. for officials.
CII – information systems, information and telecommunication networks, automated control systems of CII subjects, as well as telecommunication networks used to organize their interaction. CII subjects are companies operating in strategically important areas, in particular healthcare, science, banking, fuel and energy complex, etc.
According to the amendments made to Article 19.7.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, for providing false information for assigning a CII object to one of the categories of significance, a fine is set for officials in the amount of 10 to 50 thousand rubles, for legal entities – from 50 up to 100 thousand rubles
In addition, a fine is introduced for repeated violation of the deadlines for submitting such data. For officials, the fine will be from 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles, for legal entities – from 100 thousand to 200 thousand rubles.
It follows from the explanatory materials that the decision to amend the law was made after the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control of the Russian Federation revealed cases of CII subjects providing false information about the results of assigning categories of significance to CII objects.
These facts, according to the agency, can contribute to the disruption of the regular functioning of significant CII facilities, the creation of a real threat to the life and health of citizens, as well as the financial system of the country and the security of the state.
