This is the most important guarantee and guarantee of Russia’s sovereignty and the continuation of our history. I propose to consolidate positive experience in the field of youth policy and launch a new national project “Youth of Russia” this year,” Vladimir Putin said in his message to the Federal Assembly.
The President also announced that a federal payment of 5 thousand rubles will be introduced for advisers to directors of education in schools and colleges from September 1, 2024. Payments for class teachers in cities with a population of up to 100 thousand people will be doubled, to 10 thousand rubles, from March 1. 9 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget to update the infrastructure of pedagogical universities.
Vladimir Putin emphasized that in Russia it is necessary to improve the system of remuneration for public sector employees, since their incomes, even in neighboring regions, may be “unfairly different.” As part of this task, the president instructed the government to develop a new system of remuneration for teachers in the regions in 2025, and to approve it in 2026.
From January 1, 2024, the salaries of a number of public sector employees were indexed by 9.8%. In particular, they increased the earnings of workers in the fields of education, healthcare, social security, culture and science. From October 1 of the same year, the salaries of other public sector employees will be indexed by 4.5%.
