On June 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the Northern River Station. First, he listened to a report by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on the history of the facility (this is their seventh public meeting in 2023). The Mayor spoke about the rehabilitation of the Moskva River, the improvement of embankments and beaches, the restoration of the Northern and the reconstruction of the Southern River Station. There was another speaker – the head of Sitronics (part of AFK Sistema) Nikolai Pozhidaev.
Putin had to open the first stage of the route of electric vessels manufactured by Sitronics, 6.5 km long: it connected the Kyiv railway station and the Shelepikhinskaya embankment pier near the Heart of the Capital residential complex. In total, eight electric trams will run along the route: Sinichka, Setun, Presnya, Filka, Skhodnya (the president examined it), Ramenka, Yauza and Neglinka. Vessels with a length of 22 m and a capacity of 50 people will serve the route all year round: the design allows them to navigate on finely broken ice.
