Putin and Erdogan discussed the grain deal, Ukraine and the creation of a gas hub

Presidents of Turkey and Russia Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation during which they discussed issues of economic cooperation and settlement of the crisis in Ukraine, transmits NTV Turk with reference to the Communications Department under the Turkish President.
In particular, Erdogan thanked Putin for his “constructive position” and the extension of participation in the grain deal on the same terms. The Turkish president also again called for the resumption of talks between Russia and Ukraine, noting that the contacts of the heads of intelligence of the United States and the Russian Federation that took place this week play “a key role in preventing uncontrolled escalation on the ground.”
In addition, Erdogan and Putin discussed issues related to the creation of a gas hub in Turkey, according to Erdogan, experts will conduct the necessary technical, legal and commercial assessments to achieve common goals as soon as possible. Yesterday, November 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the participants in the grain deal, including Russia, extended its validity is 120 days. Peskov noted that when extending the agreement, the concerns that Moscow had previously expressed were taken into account. “There is an assurance from the UN that the work to ensure Russian exports of food, grain and fertilizers will be finalized. This work has its results,” he said.
On the same day, Erdogan said that the heads of the Foreign Intelligence Service and the CIA, Sergei Naryshkin and William Burns, agreed during a meeting in Ankara abstain from the use of nuclear weapons. Erdogan also noted that Turkey is interested in seeing the meetings of the Russian and American sides take place more often. According to him, Ankara is ready to make efforts for this. Erdogan once again stressed that the use of nuclear weapons should not be allowed, as this could lead to the start of a “new world war.”

In this case, according to Putin, Turkey can become the largest gas hub. On October 19, President Erdogan announced that he had agreed with Putin on the creation of an international gas hub in the country. He announced this during a speech in Parliament. According to the Turkish President, an international gas hub can be created as soon as possible.
