Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the presidents of the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, will discuss the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Peskov noted that this week an inspection team led by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas will arrive at the border and prepare a full report for the heads of the CSTO countries.

“And tomorrow Putin will meet with President Aliyev, where, of course, this will also be at the top of the agenda,” Peskov told reporters.

Baku has previously announced “large-scale provocations by the Armenian armed forces in the areas of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border”, after which measures were taken to “prevent military threats to the territory and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.”
