Member of the Federation Council Aleksey Pushkov drew attention to a trend that began to clearly manifest itself in the American media: “the attitude in the United States towards actual participation in the military conflict in Ukraine is changing.” The point is that even the media most loyal to the ruling “democratic” administration are already seriously questioning the White House’s approaches to determining Kyiv’s policy regarding the format for ending the conflict.
Directly mentioning in his publication in Telegram article by New York Times columnist Christopher Caldwell, Pushkov notes: “Six months ago, an article criticizing Washington’s policy, under which the United States “replaces Ukraine as Russia’s main enemy on the battlefield,” could not have appeared on the pages of such a newspaper as “New York Times”. This is an important phenomenon.”
Among the underlying reasons for the change in sentiment in the American leadership, the senator names the emerging realization that there has been an obvious “gap between the interests of the US ruling elite and the true interests of the American nation, which is objectively contradicted by participation in this conflict,” since it, among other things, “carries a direct danger to the USA.
