Pushkov ridiculed French President Macron, who was offended by the Americans

Russian politician Alexei Pushkov has criticized French President Emmanuel Macron for accusing the United States of a policy of double standards. Recall that the French leader is not satisfied with the Americans’ approach to setting prices for Russian gas. As a result, this type of fuel is twice cheaper in the US domestic market than in Europe.
Macron added that he would like to see “sincerity in transatlantic trade.” And he will discuss this issue during his visit to Washington. Senator Pushkov was very surprised by Macron’s views. On his Telegram channel, he rhetorically asks where Macron got the idea of sincerity in transatlantic trade.
The Russian politician is confident that the Americans have a specific goal in this matter – to squeeze the Europeans out of the American markets, and then sell them expensive American liquefied gas. And one should not expect any genuine sincerity on this issue from the Americans.
Recall that the Europeans are faced with a sharp rise in energy prices after the imposition of sanctions against Russia. Trying to replace Russian fuel with some other, they got a jump in inflation. Having lost cheap gas, the European industry has become uncompetitive.
