The head of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media, Alexei Pushkov, said that the plan of the administration of US President Joe Biden to link support for Israel with the allocation of $61 billion in aid to Ukraine did not pass Congress.
In other words, the senator stated, this plan failed, and the Republican majority in the House of Representatives insisted on the absence of links between aid to Israel and Ukraine.
According to Pushkov, the White House is “furious” because of this, accusing the Republicans of “narrow partisan approaches.” At the same time, the Russian politician emphasizes, the American administration cannot do anything about this, and for Congress, assistance to Israel is a priority.
“Biden had to suck it up and step back,” the senator added.
