What is the “Pushkin card”

The Pushkin Map project is being implemented by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Digital Development and Post Bank. It was launched on the initiative of the President on August 31, 2021 to attract teenagers and young people to the cultural life of Russia. Each card contains 5 thousand rubles, which they can spend during the year on museums, philharmonic societies, concert halls, theaters and cinemas. The balance of the card is replenished from January 1 of each year or after the first issue.

In fact, the card is issued as a simple debit card of the Mir payment system. It can be both plastic and virtual. But it is impossible to withdraw money from the “Pushkin card” or withdraw it. The state subsidy is allocated exclusively for cultural events, and any operations are prohibited on the card itself, except for the purchase and return of previously purchased tickets. Against violators may file a case for fraudulent articles.

How to get “Pushkin card”

All citizens of Russia aged 14 to 22 can make the Pushkin Card. It can be issued through an account on the “Gosuslugi”, in a special mobile application “Gosuslugi.Kultura” or at the post office of the Bank.

By the end of 2022, every second Russian aged 14–22 received it. Pupils of 14 years old can issue a “Pushkin card” after receiving a passport.

Like everyone else, they will have to register on the Gosuslugi portal, confirm their account through an online bank or at the MFC service center, download the Gosuslugi.Kultura application and within it confirm the issuance of the Pushkin Card using a passport and SNILS. You can’t use parent accounts.

Where can you get on the “Pushkin map”

The full poster of the “Pushkin map” is published on the website “Culture.RF”. According to it, you can choose from 70 thousand events. In total, approximately 22.8 thousand organizations across Russia participate in the program, including the Bolshoi Theatre, the Mariinsky Theatre, the Moscow Kremlin Museums, the Tretyakov Gallery, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Kizhi and Yasnaya Polyana museum-reserves and others.

You can find Pushkin Card events directly at the organizer’s box office or on popular ticketing sites such as Yandex.Afisha, Kassir, Ticketland and others. Often there are separate sections, and next to the necessary events there is a note that the “Pushkin card” is accepted as payment. Then, on the purchase page, you need to find the button “Pay with Pushkin Card”. Otherwise, the purchase process is no different from paying with a simple debit card.

How to go to the cinema on the “Pushkin map”

2,200 cinemas throughout the country (85% of all cinemas in Russia) have joined the Pushkin program, a third of them are located in rural areas.

You can pay by card only for tickets for domestic films that are approved by the expert council under the Ministry of Culture of Russia. It will also not work to spend the entire face value on a movie: out of the declared five thousand, less than half can be spent on it – 2 thousand rubles.

When placing an order on the cinema’s website, the cost of only one ticket is compensated at the expense of the Pushkin Card – for a child. If you need to buy several tickets, the order will have to be split up and paid in installments. At the entrance, the controller can check not only the ticket, but also the passport or the presence of a profile in the State Services.Culture application.

Where to go on the “Pushkin map” in the summer

The rules for visiting cultural organizations during the holidays do not change. You just need to choose an interesting event and pay for it using the Pushkin Card.

According to the lists on the Kultura.RF website, in the summer of 2023, excursions are available at the Chukovsky and Pasternak museums in Peredelkino, boat tours at the Ostafyevo Museum-Reserve, the Secrets of the Old House quest at the Underground Printing House of 1905–1906 ”, a backstage tour at the Moscow Art Theater Museum and more.
