Acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin signed a decree (.pdf) on the liquidation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the DPR. This is to be done by October 1, 2023. By decree of April 12, Mr. Pushilin created a liquidation commission of the department.
The commission, among other things, will conduct an inventory of property, resolve personnel, financial and logistical issues.
“Financial support for liquidation measures in relation to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the DPR shall be carried out within the budgetary allocations provided for by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the DPR in the budget of the DPR,” the document says. The Decree came into force from the date of its signing.
Earlier, the head of the DPR approved a new structure of the region’s executive authorities. According to the document, departments and ministries created before the republic joined the Russian Federation will continue to work until they are liquidated. The first among the departments to liquidate the Prosecutor General’s Office, informs Donetsk news agency.
DPR became part of Russia according to the results referendum held in September 2022. In December 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing prosecutors in new regions – Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Andrey Spivak, who previously served as deputy head of the DPR prosecutor’s office, was appointed DPR prosecutor.
