The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have stepped up in all directions in the zone of the special operation, Denis Pushilin, the acting head of the DPR, said on the air of Rossiya-24.
“We see activation along the entire line of contact, this is not yet the counteroffensive, which is much talked about and talked about,” he said (quote according to TASS).
Pushilin explained that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to conduct reconnaissance in force in separate areas and “probe” the positions of the Russian Armed Forces. The Russian side is ready for such a scenario, he added.
On May 11, a number of military correspondents in their Telegram channels reported on the start of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and “defense breakthroughs” in various parts of the contact line, but the Russian Defense Ministry on May 12 refuted breakthrough of the defense and stressed that the situation in the zone of the special operation is under control. The department stressed that in the Kupyansk, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye directions, “active operations are not being carried out.” In the Krasnolimansky direction of the RF Armed Forces, two attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelled in the areas of the settlements of Kremennaya and Chervonaya Dibrova.
On the same day, the Ministry of Defense confirmed offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Soledar tactical direction along the entire line of contact with a length of more than 95 km, all attacks of the Ukrainian side were repelled.
