Athletes from Orel-Karat showed their skills at the Russian Karate Cup in Nizhny Novgorod, which united 350 participants from different parts of the country. 8 participants came from the Oryol region to the competition, two of whom were able to earn a place on the podium. This was reported by the regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports.
During the competition, Vitalia Rusanova defeated the European champion, but lost in the final, taking second place in the tournament. Another Oryol resident, Tatyana Mironova, deservedly won bronze. It is noted that the girls train under the guidance of coach Alexei Pankratov.
The Russian Cup was an important step towards qualifying for the BRICS games scheduled for June in Kazan.
