GOST was issued, which describes the procedure for carrying out work
Russian landscape architects will now be landscaping cities according to the standard. Recently, the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Gosstandart) issued GOST “Integrated landscaping and operation of urban areas.”
As it became known to MK, not only professionals, such as landscape designers, dendrologists, builders, but also ordinary local residents will be able to take part in the design and creation of pedestrian zones. But even if they do not become directly involved in the process, their opinion should be taken into account. Recreational zones should be all-season, for this, already at the design stage, it is necessary to think over how the townspeople will have fun throughout the year. It is also necessary to ensure the accessibility of public space, in particular, transport (for public transport, personal cars, bicycles, etc.). For the convenience of people with limited mobility, a barrier-free environment should be created.
When determining the boundaries of the improvement of streets, it will be necessary to take into account all the territories adjacent to them, if a square, square or boulevard adjoins the street, they are also recommended to be included in the project. If the roadway is more than four lanes wide, only one side of the street can be improved. When organizing public space on the square, all areas that are visible from it should be landscaped. Yard areas are recommended to be put in order on a quarterly basis in order to avoid repetition of functional zones and sites. Embankments should be landscaped simultaneously with all areas that are visible from the water’s edge. Upon completion of construction and installation works, a passport for the improvement object is drawn up.
