American psychologists have found that connections with influential people worsen the reputation of women entrepreneurs
Scientists from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Michigan have concluded that connections with influential specialists, previously considered useful for entrepreneurs of both sexes, worsen the reputation of women who are successfully building their careers.
Psychologists conducted five studies, two of which took place in the United States and three in China. As it turned out, women who had contacts with influential people were treated with less respect than those who did not report such contacts.
The scientists presented their findings in the journal Organization Science.
