Japanese company Sony released a large-scale update of the PlayStation 5 console, thanks to which the console received support for an SSD drive with a capacity of up to 8 TB (previously there was a limit of up to 4 TB). PS5 also received support for Dolby Atmos technology – media services compatible with the console will be able to update their applications to support the new feature.
It has become possible to use an auxiliary controller, thanks to which you can use the second gamepad as the first – this will be useful, for example, if a parent wants to help a child get through some difficult moment in the game. You can also now use PS Remote Play on Google Chromecast TV boxes with Google TV (4K) – this will allow you to stream video games from PS5 or PS4 to devices with Android TV 12.
Users were able to turn off sounds when starting and turning off the console, as well as when going into standby mode. The volume of these sounds can be adjusted if necessary. The updated DualSence gamepad mode will allow you to use haptic triggers when interacting with the console interface.
There are new voice commands “Hey, PlayStation, help” to find pages with support information or “Hey, PlayStation, what`s new” to get information about new PS5 features. Emoji reactions to messages have been added, and a function to preview other users’ broadcasts has also appeared.
