PromMOSCOW Awards: an award for city industrial enterprises was held in Moscow for the first time

As part of the capital’s industry month, the PromMOSCOW Awards were held for the first time in Moscow

More than 20 city enterprises became laureates, and another 7 received the title of winners in the nominations. The largest manufacturers of medicinal, medical, packaging, confectionery, construction, cosmetic and other products competed for the title of best of the best in the nominations.

“Such awards allow us to once again celebrate the work of those who are behind the daily production of high-tech medicines, innovative solutions in the field of data transmission and microcircuits, cars and charging stations for electric vehicles, cosmetics, food and other products necessary for the life of a modern metropolis,” – said Vladislav Ovchinsky, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

He added that this time the expert council assessed factories in 7 categories, and three leading enterprises were identified in each of them. Ovchinsky also noted that he hopes that the award will become an annual tradition and the number of nominations and participating enterprises will grow.

Today, more than four thousand enterprises operate in the capital, providing jobs for over 720 thousand people.

The capital occupies a seventh of the country’s manufacturing industry. Last year, production in manufacturing industries increased by 17.2%. And this year the city is also moving at a good pace – already 13.9% from January to August.

In the category “Efficient Industrial Complex”, the first position was taken by the manufacturer of copper rod and wire “Elkat”.

“We see that the winners are those companies that made the greatest contribution to the industry. For example, we have the maximum net profit per hectare. But what is important for the city? This is the personal income tax, which is paid by the enterprise, and the development of the city is based on it. For us, the award is an honor, but also an understanding that we need to become even better,” said Pavel Moryakov, General Director of the Moskabelmet Group of Companies, which includes Elkat.

Biforcom Tech, a manufacturer of communication equipment, was recognized as the most “effective resident of the SEZ”. The leader in the category “Largest constructed industrial facility” was the company “Krost”, which implemented a large-scale project – built and put into operation an industrial technology park where modern building materials are produced.

“In 265 days we built the largest plant in Russia. Thanks, among other things, to a very strong team that works with full dedication, purposefulness and with the belief that the tasks set by the city and the general director will be fulfilled,” said Boris Dobashin, deputy general director of the KROST concern.

First place in the Labor Productivity Growth category was taken by Parus Electro, which produces charging stations for electric vehicles. The Ochakovo plant took the lead in the “Export-oriented enterprise” category; the volume of exports of drinks from the capital’s manufacturer for the year exceeded $27 million. The Moscow Refinery was named the best “Sports Industrial Enterprise”, which for several years in a row became a prize-winner at the Mosprom Spartakiad.

Ice cream manufacturer Brand Ice was noted as the most “Open Industrial Enterprise”. They were assessed by the number of excursions held on it as part of the “Open #Mosprom” project.

“Moscow Industry Day is a great professional holiday for all manufacturers. We, as representatives of the food industry, feel strongly supported by the city. The awards that the winners received today are a high assessment of the work of the teams,” commented Agnessa Osipova, president of BRPI JSC.
