Professor Lieven: Western politicians behave like “offended liver sausage” in relation to the Russian Federation

Western politicians who condemn the presence of Russian representatives in the OSCE are behaving like “offended liverwurst” and not like diplomats. Such an opinion in his article for Responsible Statecraft said Professor of Cambridge University Anatol Lieven.
He stressed that in recent years, many Western diplomats have begun to forget about the essence of diplomacy and cannot negotiate with rivals, and sometimes enemies. According to him, all sanctions cause irritation around the world, including such partners of the West as India.
At the end of 2022, Poland did not allow Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to participate in the meeting of the OSCE foreign ministers on December 1-2.
In addition, it is worth noting that Russian parliamentarians were denied visas in order to participate in the autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
