Principal of Perm school No. 12 and her subordinates quit because of “talking about important things”

One of the most famous Permian language schools, which collaborated with the Ministry of Education of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Goethe Scientific and Cultural Center, was left by the director and several teachers. Personnel changes at school No. 12 took place against the backdrop of a conflict between the leadership of the educational institution and activists united around the local Telegram channel “Prikamsky Knights”. The administration of the educational institution opposed the meeting of schoolchildren with the participants of the SVO within the framework of “Conversations about the important”. The ex-director explained her decision by the prohibition of political campaigning in schools established by the federal law “On Education”.
Several teachers quit school No. 12 in Perm with in-depth study of the German language. This was preceded by a conflict between the leadership of the educational institution and activists who united around the local Telegram channel “Prikamsky Knights”. In the spring, they said that the school administration refused to organize a meeting of students with participants in the SVO as part of the “Conversations about the Important”.
Perm School No. 12 was founded in 1935. Since 1991 it has been a school with in-depth study of the German language. In 1999, school graduates were given the opportunity to take an exam for a German language diploma of the second stage, which allows them to enter German universities without a language exam. The school cooperated with the Ministry of Education of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Goethe Scientific and Cultural Center, as well as the central administration of foreign schools in Germany. Pupils of the middle and senior classes of the school took language internships in German schools.
Last week, it became known about the dismissal of the headmaster of the school, Elena Rakintseva, at her own request. Earlier, Ms. Rakintseva, in an interview with Deutsche Welle (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation), explained her refusal to hold “Conversations about the Important” with the participants of the NWO by the fact that the law on education prohibits the use of educational activities for political agitation. The director also spoke about the closure of the international training program and the visit of FSB officers to the school. The latter, according to Elena Rakintseva, came on the eve of the German language exams. Representatives of the special services were allegedly interested in the participation of the coordinator of the Central Directorate for School Education at the German Consulate in Yekaterinburg in the examination committee.
In addition to the director last summer, about 11 teachers left the school, according to media reports.
“I realized that I couldn’t work in the current conditions, it’s a pity for my kids, there were so many interesting ideas,” he quotes 59.ru one of the teachers, without naming him. The interlocutor of the publication says that earlier “they gave a choice of which topic to choose for “Conversations about the Important””, but now “there will be no such choice”: “When the “Conversations about the Important” is going on, the classrooms in schools should be open, the head teacher goes and checks how the job is going.”
The department of education of the Perm administration confirmed that during the summer several teachers wrote letters of resignation. The number of those who left the department is not specified. The mayor’s office added that at the beginning of the academic year, the entire teaching staff had been formed and there were no open vacancies.
Anna Zobnina, who headed the school, declined to comment. Elena Rakintseva did not answer the call.
