Prince Harry reveals not all the secrets of the British monarchy in his memoirs

Prince Harry says that although he has enough material to write another book of memoirs, he decided not to publish some of the details as he was worried that his father and brother would never forgive him if they became public.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the Duke of Sussex also said that the original transcript of his memoirs for The Spare was twice as long as the final cut, and it was hard for him to decide what to cut.

Many of the details that were eventually removed, he added, were about both his father and his brother.

“The first draft was different,” Harry told interviewer Briony Gordon. – It consisted of 800 pages, and now their number has been reduced to 400 pages. Let’s just say it could be two books. And the hardest part was taking the pieces out.”

Prince Harry added: “There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know about. Because I don’t think they’ll ever forgive me.”

Harry’s autobiography “Spare” went on sale Tuesday in the UK.

The Guardian was the first to reveal details from the controversial memoir, including the allegation that Prince William attacked Harry after a heated argument over his wife Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex.

Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace said they would not comment on the content of the book.

The news of Harry’s excess of materials is likely to cause even more consternation among the royal family, The Guardian notes.

In an interview, Harry said that he knew he would be “exposed” for including anything about his family in the book, but that he couldn’t have written a memoir without including those bits.

He also criticized the press, claiming that the media has accumulated “a hell of a ton of dirt about my family, I know what they have, and they hide it under the carpet for juicy stories about someone else.”

The Duke of Sussex has reiterated that he is not trying to destroy the monarchy, but is instead helping to reform it.

Speaking of Prince William’s children – George, 9, Charlotte, 7, and Louis, 4 – Prince Harry reminded that at least one of his brother’s children will be “spare” and that it “frightens” and “worries” him. But he said that Prince William “made it very clear to me that I am not responsible for his children.”

“It’s not about trying to overthrow the monarchy – it’s about trying to save them from themselves,” Harry added. “I know that many people who say this will crucify me.”

He suggested that in time the royal family would be able to thank him for being so open about his injury.

Meanwhile, he acknowledged that trying to change the “institution” (i.e. the royal family) and the media landscape has proven to be “no easy task” but that he is applying “long-term strategic thinking” to deal with this “enormous” challenge.

At the same time, according to Sky News, Harry demanded an apology from the royal family for his wife Meghan, saying: “You know what you did and now I know why you did it. And you’ve been caught, so just confess everything.”

The Duke of Sussex stated that “if people had listened” when he first spoke of his concerns, he and his wife would not have been at odds with the family, adding: “That’s the saddest part of it all – it could have all been avoided. But they just couldn’t help themselves.”

It’s unclear why he’s demanding an apology from his family, but Harry has spoken in the past about members of the royal family who were against his relationship with his wife, Sky News emphasizes.

Harry also said in an interview that he was baffled as to why it seemed so “shocking and outrageous” that he was trying to tell what he called the “true” side of his story, adding that he wanted to continue the “good fight” standing up for his wife and encouraging other men to do the same. “If you don’t lead by example, what’s the point in life?” he asks.
