Primorsky “Admiral” lost in overtime to Chelyabinsk “Tractor”

The Sailors managed to level the score just over three minutes before the end of regular time

“Admiral” arrived in Chelyabinsk with three wins over not the weakest opponents in the league. This allowed Primorye to rise to fifth place in the East conference, now it remains to stay in the playoff zone, especially since the groundwork has been created quite well. Accordingly, the Admiral’s mentor did not look for the best, if there is a good one, and did not touch the squad before the game, brought victory in Yekaterinburg. Traktor, which had already returned from the trip, managed to beat Amur at home, scoring the only goal in the entire match and was now preparing to fight another Far Eastern team.

The first period was mostly without critical moments. The players struggled in the middle zone occasionally throwing on goal. In the fifth minute, “Admiral” got sent off – Nikolai Chebykin sat in the penalty box for delaying the opponent with a stick, but the opponent failed to take advantage of his two minutes of the majority. But the guests themselves in a quick attack of the hosts were not ready. At the 37th minute, Maksim Shabanov, having jumped out on a penny, beat Alexander Lazushin and opened the scoring in this match.

The “sailors” did not manage to recoup for a long time. Only in the 57th minute of the match, when, after the removal of Sergei Telegin, Leonid Tambiev went for broke and left his net empty by releasing the sixth field against the opponent’s four, the captain of Admiral Libor Shulak equalized the score. The game went into overtime and there, on 61 minutes, the same Maxim Shabanov brings victory to his team. However, “Admiral” in spite of everything continues to score points, of course, I would like two, but one is also very good.

– Closed, viscous game on both sides, everything is systemic. Probably not such an interesting match for the audience. Goal chances were created mainly in the majority. Once we made a mistake, we were punished. Well done guys for scoring this goal. We have earned one point today. In overtime, we did not understand the situation, the opponent punished us for this. At home, Traktor plays very systematically, it doesn’t allow to create so many chances. And in Magnitogorsk, Metallurg, in my opinion, made only 25 shots, while Avangard and Magnitogorsk are one of the strongest teams in terms of attack in the KHL. Each team has a system, we also have it. We try to stick to it. Regarding the fact that we play very well in the minority – do not overpraise. – The fifth match in a day – it was clear that there was not enough freshness. At the end, and most of it, there was a lack of concentration. Technical moments suffered, they could not gain a foothold and create in the zone. In every game, the result is important. Important two points.
