Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Friday, visiting former Polish villages in western Ukraine destroyed by Ukrainian nationalists during World War II, called these events of 1943, which went down in history as the Volyn massacre, “genocide” and “a huge tragedy.”
“The hell of hundreds and thousands of Polish families,” Morawiecki said during his speech.
He noted that this hell was created by Ukrainian nationalists, but it became possible because the Third Reich was here, which liquidated the Polish state.
He called on the 80th anniversary of these events to find all the burial sites in order to exhume the victims and bury them with dignity.
“I will not rest until the last victim of that terrible Volyn crime is found,” Morawiecki stressed.
