Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan fears that driverless taxis will leave migrants without work in Moscow

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov expressed concern about the possible spread of unmanned taxis in Moscow. According to the prime minister, the active use of technology could put many Kyrgyz migrants living in the Russian capital out of work.
Last year the Russian government allowed Yandex to launch in the capital (on the territory of Skolkovo and the Sirius center, as well as in Yasenevo and Innopolis) unmanned taxis in an experimental mode.
“This is truly a miracle, but I was more overcome by concern about the possible consequences that in the near future, unmanned taxis could flood Moscow, which could lead to the loss of jobs for many of our migrant citizens. This is an inevitable challenge for us,” said Mr. Japarov on the sidelines of the information technology forum in Bishkek (quote – ORDA.).
The Kyrgyz prime minister also shared his thoughts on the experience of using artificial intelligence in the media industry. Mr. Zhaparov believes that AI will be able to replace humans, including in the media.
