Prilepin spoke about the attempts of Ukrainian saboteurs to kill him in 2017

Politician and writer Zakhar Prilepin said that in 2017 he was warned about the intentions of sabotage groups from Ukraine to liquidate him. According to the writer, in the same year near his house in Donetsk “land mines were shot” twice.

“For the first time, I was informed that several sabotage groups from Ukraine were working for me in the DPR, back in 2017. I was in the top five for elimination. I was then the deputy commander of the reconnaissance and assault battalion of the DPR special forces regiment, ”said Zakhar Prilepin, his statement, citing the press service, is quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to the writer, the last time he received a warning from the Russian special services that they wanted to liquidate him was on the eve of his departure from the LPR, shortly before the assassination attempt on May 6. “… I am an active officer of the Russian Guard. They warned that there were several groups working for me in the city and asked me to be careful. As a matter of fact, this is a constant background of life, I somehow even got used to it, as far as possible, ”said Mr. Prilepin. He noted that the attempt on his life would not affect his decision to serve on a contract basis in the National Guard.

On May 6, Zakhar Prilepin’s car was blown up near Nizhny Novgorod. The explosion killed his guard Alexander Shubin, who was sitting in the passenger seat (an explosive device went off under his seat). The writer himself was injured and was hospitalized. According to the Investigative Committee, during the explosion, the car was torn in half, and a funnel 40 cm deep and 1.5 m in diameter formed on the road.

Arrested on suspicion of attempted murder arrested Alexander Permyakov. After the arrest, he stated that he acted on instructions from the SBU. The man was charged with a terrorist act (Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and illegal arms trafficking (Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). At the Russian Foreign Ministry claimthat the US authorities are primarily responsible for the assassination attempt.
