The founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin answered a question from foreign journalists about the motives that, according to one of the versions discussed in the Western press, underlie his desire to take control of the city of Bakhmut. As follows from the publication of the press service of Prigozhin, the publication Politico asked what benefits he intends to receive for himself during the hostilities. The question was: “In addition to the ideological motivation, from the point of view of a businessman, do you hope that the seizure of the salt mines in Bakhmut will allow you to make up some of the financial costs for fighters, weapons and uniforms?”

“Your questions are very stupid, unprofessional and offensive,” Prigozhin said.

According to him, the Bakhmut salt mines are unlikely to be exploited in the near future, and in theory they can bring only “penny”.

“Your questions can be called nothing more than “throwing shit on the fan,” Prigozhin concluded.
