Prigozhin confirmed the creation of the people’s militia: “A week in the trenches, three at work”

The press service of the Concord company published a comment by its owner Yevgeny Prigozhin, who answered a question about the formation of “militia training centers” in the border regions of Russia. Prigozhin confirmed that such centers are indeed being created and described the principles of the “people’s militia” functioning.

“Yes, indeed, we are setting up militia training centers,” reads the reply.

Prigogine believes that the regional militia should consist of residents of this particular region, since “a local resident, like no one else, knows his territories, is able to <...> take the first hit if necessary. “Military units with mobilized”, according to Prigozhin, should be “at a distance, inland.”

As for the approach to recruiting the militia, one should “put the responsibility on the regional business,” Prigogine believes. According to him, if the plant employs 100 people, “50 of them are sexually mature males,” then “25% should serve in the trenches, and 75% should continue their labor activity.”

“And so in a circle – one week in the trenches, three houses and at work,” Prigozhin explained his idea. “In this case, when the enemy comes to Russian soil, all 100% will stand up.”

Civic awareness of regional businesses should be encouraged, continues Prigogine. However, it does not follow from his words that a business that is permanently deprived of a quarter of its employees will be able to count on state material support.

“In response to their civic position, do not regret presenting them for high state awards,” he explained the approach to rewarding businessmen. “And compatriots do not skimp on words of gratitude.”

Prigozhin also pointed out a possible problem in creating a militia: “The question of the non-proliferation of small arms in these territories.” He sees the solution as follows: “in the trenches, of course, everyone should stand with weapons,” but “their carrying should be prohibited in populated areas and outside the line of defense.”
