Prigozhin asked Roskomnadzor to check RTVI because of the material about the Wagner PMC fighter

The founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, sent appeals to Roskomnadzor and the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Igor Krasnov, with a request to check the work of the RTVI TV channel, reported press service of the entrepreneur.

As follows from the text of the businessman’s statements, Prigozhin asks to check the RTVI material with the heading “The ex-commander of the Wagner PMC, who fled to Norway, spoke about the executions of fighters “in front of everyone”” for violations of Part 5 of Art. 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Slander combined with accusing a person of committing a grave or especially grave crime”), art. 207.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public dissemination of knowingly false socially significant information that entailed grave consequences”) and Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the RF Armed Forces”).

As explained in the press service, Prigozhin asks the RKN and the Prosecutor General to “check the activities of the RTVI resource and its employees for the dissemination of unreliable, socially significant, slanderous information.”

“Under the guise of reliable information, it creates a threat of massive violation of public safety. In case of revealing signs of violations of the current legislation of the Russian Federation, we propose to bring the perpetrators to justice and restrict access to inaccurate RTVI materials, ”the press service said.

Now material with the headline “Former Wagner PMC commander who fled to Norway spoke about the executions of fighters “in front of everyone”” is not available on the RTVI website. Formerly CNN published an interview with Andrey Medvedev, who called himself the ex-commander of the Wagner branch of the PMC. The former member of the military company said that he previously served in the Russian army, and then joined the Wagner PMC as a volunteer. Prigozhin called for checking RTVI for publishing Medvedev’s words from CNN material, in particular, about the lack of a specific strategy for the PMC on the battlefield, turning troops into “cannon fodder”, his desire to hold Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prigozhin accountable.

January 16, the founder of PMC “Wagner” confirmed work in the company of the Russian Medvedev detained in Norway.

“Yes, indeed, Andrei Medvedev worked in the Norwegian battalion of the Wagner PMC, which is called Nidhogg, since he had Norwegian citizenship. He should have been held accountable for attempting to mistreat prisoners,” Prigozhin’s press service said in a statement.
