The founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin said that as of May 2, slightly less than 26,000 former prisoners had expired contracts with a private military company. According to him, persons from these 26 thousand people committed 54 crimes on the territory of the Russian Federation.
“They committed 54 crimes, including bicycle theft, which corresponds to 0.21%, or 20-40 times less than it was during the usual release of prisoners, including repeat offenders, before the SVO,” said the businessman, whose words leads his press office.
“Today, the repeated crime of our wards ranges from 0.28 to 0.32%, while previously it was 3.5–7%. Therefore, after working in PMC ”Wagner”, crime is reduced by ten or more times,” Mr. Prigogine said on April 18.
“Crime among PMC ”Wagner” fighters, former prisoners who completed their contract and came home, is 20 times less than that of ordinary prisoners who finish their term, and today is about 0.3% against 3-7% in a normal situation,” he said on April 24.
At the end of March, the founder of the PMC asked report cases when former Wagner wards, especially from former prisoners, behave aggressively or defiantly: “We will send our recruiting group, carefully pick him up under white arms and send him to the front, where he must vent his aggression.”
