Prigozhin announced the capture of the village of Krasnaya Gora by the fighters of PMC “Wagner”

Assault detachments of PMC Wagner on Sunday took control of the village of Krasnaya Gora located near Bakhmut, said the founder of the company Yevgeny Prigozhin. His statement in the Telegram channel published press service of the entrepreneur.

He also said that “there is no one on Bakhmut”, and within a radius of about 50 km there are only PMC fighters, who, as Prigozhin expects, will take the city.

“After the capture of Soledar and the mass hype that there was someone in Soledar other than Wagner PMC fighters, of course, the guys were very unpleasant. Therefore, I want to emphasize that there is no one on Bakhmut. There are no special units that cover, pick up and intercept something,” Prigozhin said, adding that the information that his troops allegedly took Ugledar is not true.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on January 13 reported that Soledar was completely taken under the control of the Russian military, which is of great strategic importance for the further offensive. Later, Prigozhin said that they were “trying to steal victory” from PMC fighters and belittle their merits as part of a special operation. Then the department reported that a heterogeneous group of Russian troops took part in the liberation of Soledar from the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while the direct assault on the quarters of the city was carried out by detachments of the Wagner PMC.

Taking the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics under full control will require another one and a half to two years of hostilities, declared previously the founder of PMC “Wagner” in an interview with journalist Semyon Pegov. Prigozhin also reported that his military took Sacco and Vanzetti, Nikolayevka, and Blagodatnoye to the DNRsel. On January 19, he also spoke about taking control of the settlement of Kleshcheevka, which “is one of the important suburbs” of Artemovsk (Bakhmut). The next day, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that Artemovsk was close to the operational encirclement. According to him, the fighters of PMC “Wagner” are moving forward “both day and night.”

On January 26, adviser to the acting head of the DPR, Igor Kimakovsky, said that the Russian military had entered Vugledar, entrenched on its outskirts. February 10, Acting Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin declared on the evacuation of civilians from Ugledar to Volnovakha.
