President Sadyr Japarov received FIFA President Gianni Infantino

Today, on May 5, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov received the President of the International Football Federation (FIFA) Gianni Infantino, who arrived in Bishkek the day before.

Issues of development of Kyrgyz football, as well as improvement of football infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan were discussed.

The head of state, warmly welcoming Gianni Infantino, congratulated him on his re-election as President of the International Football Federation and thanked him for his invaluable contribution to the development of football around the world.

Sadyr Japarov noted that the FIFA member states entrusted Gianni Infantino to head this prestigious organization. It is safe to say that this trust is the appreciation of the best ideas and recognition of his achievements in football, which is the most popular sport in the world.

The President emphasized with particular satisfaction that the FIFA Talent Development Scheme is a great opportunity to give every talented player a chance. The Kyrgyz side expresses its deep gratitude to FIFA for the assistance provided to the development of Kyrgyz football.

“Your first visit to the Kyrgyz Republic is symbolic and important in terms of the development of Kyrgyz football. Achievements in the field of sports are an indicator of well-being, unity and development of the state,” Sadyr Japarov said.

The head of state focused on the fact that in recent years the number of people choosing an active lifestyle and going in for sports has increased. This suggests that the state attaches great importance to the sports sector, including football, and provides support.

Sadyr Japarov noted that football is very close to him of all sports, he has been playing it since childhood, and also follows the events in the world of football with great interest.

The President added that he is ready to support any initiatives for the development of domestic football and spoke about the Muras futsal tournament he initiated. Subsequently, it became a good tradition to hold the tournament twice a year.

“If we consider international football as a separate family, we consider ourselves a full member of this family. Therefore, we firmly believe that FIFA will treat us like a brother in the family,” said President Sadyr Japarov.

In turn, Gianni Infantino expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and the opportunity to see with his own eyes how football is developing in the country. This is his first visit to Kyrgyzstan.

One of their goals is to promote the development of football in Kyrgyzstan and share international experience, as well as invest in the development of this sport. At the same time, Gianni Infantino emphasized the well-performed work of the Kyrgyz Football Union and indicated FIFA’s intention to make its maximum contribution to the development of football in Kyrgyzstan. In particular, they are ready to invest and provide technical support to the Children and Youth Football Academy in Issyk-Kul and other facilities.

Gianni Infantino added that for 10 years they have been observing how Kyrgyz football is developing well and showing good results. In addition, he noted the talent of Kyrgyz football players, both physical and technical.

Gianni Infantino thanked the Kyrgyz side for their willingness and desire to further intensify cooperation in the field of sports.
