On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Holy Trinity Seraphim-Diveevo Convent, where a special moment took place: the president presented the monastery with an ancient icon
During his visit to the Nizhny Novgorod region, Putin visited the Resurrection Cathedral and the Museum of the Russian Patriarchate in Arzamas, as well as the Diveyevo Monastery.
The President bowed to the icon and relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov. He was given a small icon and crackers in a cast iron pot as a souvenir. In response, the head of state presented the Fedorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God of the 17th century as a gift.
After the service, the President met with local residents who expressed their gratitude and support to him. Putin shook hands with several of them and said goodbye.
