Russians do not want to go to the cinema and buy huge “plasmas” home, parallel imports can not cope

Over the past year, Russians have gotten used to the specter of a shortage (and an obvious rise in price) of household appliances and electronics. The lion’s share of goods of familiar brands has already disappeared from the shelves, and those that remain are now at least 10-15% more expensive than before. The MK correspondent found out whether it is realistic to buy an electronic new thing now and how much you will have to pay for it.

Even in the most intelligent circles, the opinion has already ceased to reign that the TV is a relic of the past and in the modern world no one will buy it. Rather, on the contrary, TVs are actively bought to be used as giant screens for watching movies online. However, the home theater, and this expression is very appropriate, is now turning into a very expensive pleasure.

Let’s see what the mall has to offer. Among the budget proposals, import substitution rules the ball – the “Made in Russia” marker has also reached consumer electronics. A Russian-made TV with a diagonal of 61 cm costs only 6,300 rubles. True, according to the consultant, the demand is low – most buyers still do not trust domestic brands and are still looking towards imported models.

Let’s take a look at the shelves with the giants of the market. There is an interesting trend here: if you want a small and inexpensive TV – say, in the kitchen – then you have at your disposal a variety of models within 20 thousand rubles. Familiar Koreans and Japanese — available. True, almost every model has a bright sticker with the note “There is one left!”, But we have long been accustomed to this.

But in the premium segment, where TVs cost more than 100 thousand rubles, everything is much sadder – huge, wall-to-wall screens are simply not available.

“Look in the online store: maybe not in our salon, but other chain stores still have it,” advises the consultant.

Alas, the online store is also silent.

There were few leftovers, and they were dismantled during the New Year holidays. Then, in general, they came for a lot of things: they bought TVs, vacuum cleaners, food processors … Probably, they took an inventory of apartments during the holidays, ”said the consultant of the trading floor.

According to him, the demand for large TVs was especially great: many buyers admitted that this year they were not at all drawn to go to the cinema during the holidays – there was nothing to watch now! – but I really want to watch the missed films of past years on the big screen.

Whether there will be new deliveries of huge TVs, the consultant has not yet been able to say. Eldar Murtazin, a leading analyst at Mobile Research Group, answered this question for MK. According to him, the equipment will definitely arrive, but it will need to be caught.

“Today, expensive equipment of brands known to us, such as Samsung or Philips, is supplied only through parallel imports. What does it mean? The distributor invests his money, buys the product and only then sells it and makes a profit and buys a new batch again. This is very different from direct deliveries. Therefore, they carry less goods, and they end faster. It is quite natural that during the holidays, when there was a high demand, equipment is washed off the shelves. In a few weeks, I’m sure everything will be back to normal, but only for a while,” Murtazin explained.

The expert also added that recently, when it came to parallel imports, companies have revised their approach to the choice of goods – the assortment has become smaller, and the distributor is more attentive to the price / quality ratio. More often they take the middle segment, and there is a new trend – people prefer to pay more, but buy a quality thing that will last a long time. The practice of “one-time” purchases of equipment is a thing of the past.

As for the import substitution of TVs, vacuum cleaners and coffee makers, the expert is rather skeptical.

— Most often, our brands hide Chinese components that were purchased there, but assembled here. We do not have a full cycle, so we are still dependent on external factors,” Murtazin concluded.
