Pregnant woman rescued from snow jam in Rostov region

A pregnant woman, who, along with her husband, got stuck in a traffic jam on the M-4 Don highway due to heavy snow, was taken to the maternity hospital. It is reported by the local newspaper 161.ru with reference to the regional government.
The couple was driving from Morozovsk and got stuck in a traffic jam near the Likhovsky bridge. In the morning, the woman’s health worsened, and she sought medical help, but because of the snowdrifts, the ambulance could not reach her.
Traffic police officers took the woman to the maternity ward of the Central City Hospital of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, her husband remained in the car. The medical facility said that the pregnant woman is not in danger, she is under the supervision of doctors.
Traffic jams formed on the roads of the Rostov region on March 30 due to snowfall and strong winds. The biggest congestion occurred on the M-4 Don highway, where the authorities blocked 76 km of the road. By morning, the length of the congestion on the M-4 Don was reduced to 30 km. Later was blocked highway Novoshakhtinsk-Gukovo.
Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Rostov region reportedthat there are more than a thousand cars in the traffic jam. However, the exact number of people stuck in traffic is still unknown. In Belokalitvensky, Kamensky, Krasnosulinsky and Oktyabrsky districts, as well as the city of Shakhty introduced emergency mode.
