The Rostec State Corporation published video unique tests of the PP-2000 submachine gun. As part of the “Our Crash” project, weapons were dropped onto the ice from a height of more than a meter, immersed in the mud and driven over it in a car. Despite all the tests, the PP-2000 retained the ability to fire.
One of the most difficult tests was driving an SUV through a weapon. After this, the submachine gun was completely immersed in the mud. But even in this condition, with clay clogging the receiver and mechanisms, the PP-2000 continued accurate shooting without failure.
It was also tested for its ability to fire continuously. The submachine gun withstood more than 400 shots without a single misfire. This significantly exceeds the technical specification of 160 continuous shots. During shooting, the barrel of the weapon heated up to such an extent that the ice on it began to melt.
PP-2000 was developed by specialists from the Instrument Design Bureau as part of the High-Precision Complexes holding company, which is part of the Rostec corporation. The weapon is designed for the 9×19 Parabellum cartridge, has one of the lightest designs in its class and weighs 1.4 kg without magazine and stock. Military pilots could be equipped with these weapons, as noted by TASSthe PP-2000 batch is now undergoing trial operation in the Russian Aerospace Forces.
