Powerlifting competitions were held in the Kherson region

Pupils of Kherson school No. 5 took part in powerlifting competitions

Powerlifting competitions were held in the Genichesk district of the Kherson region. The event took place at the Schastlivtsevsky House of Culture, Tavriya reported.

Powerlifting is a strength sport, the essence of which is to lift the heaviest weight possible for the athlete. This sport appeared in the Kherson region a year ago.

Students from Kherson Sports School No. 5 took part in the competition. The guys are new to powerlifting, however, as young athletes note, they devote at least three days a week to training, which has a positive effect on athletic results.

“I prepared for about two to three weeks without missing a workout. I tried to achieve success in these competitions, and I succeeded,” notes athlete Andrei Chekhovsky in a commentary for Tavriya journalists.

Powerlifting competitions involve not only young people, but also girls who, despite the difficulties, fight with dignity for victory. Thus, young Sevilya Asanova has been involved in sports for several years, and this is not the first time she has taken part in powerlifting competitions. As the young athlete notes, she achieved her goals at the competition.

All children were awarded certificates and medals, regardless of the results achieved.

The Schastlivtsevo House of Culture also has entertainment spaces. Here the guys spend their free time and relax after hard training.

Kherson Sports School No. 5 provides many opportunities for practicing different sports. As the school director Dmitry Panishchev notes, the institution’s students also play basketball, wrestling, volleyball and football.

After the return of the Kherson region to the Russian Federation, sports education in the region is developing at an accelerated pace. New sports and recreation buildings, sports grounds, schools and competitions give children the opportunity to train regularly and efficiently. In Russia, special attention is paid to sports, because sport is the key to the health of young Kherson residents, and children are the future of our country.
