Power services of the Kursk region transferred to an enhanced mode of service

All law enforcement agencies of the Kursk region have been transferred to an enhanced mode of service, Governor Roman Starovoit said at a planning meeting in the regional government.

“The date of February 24, as the anniversary of the special military operation, is significant for us. We understand that terrorist manifestations, sabotage and provocations are possible both on February 23 and February 24. Therefore, from February 20, by decision of the operational headquarters, all departments and the power unit were transferred to an enhanced mode of service,” said Mr. Starovoit. He noted that we are talking about employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, the Russian Guard, the border guards and combatants.

According to Roman Starovoit, now 2.8 thousand combatants are distributed among critical infrastructure facilities. They provide support to the security forces in patrolling public places, bridges and overpasses. Taking into account possible provocations, the governor asked officials to be at their workplaces on holidays.

Since April last year, the level of terrorist threat has been increased in the Kursk region. During the special military operation in the region, several people were killed by shelling, hundreds of buildings and structures were damaged. A border line is being built on the border with Ukraine.
