Power outages across Pakistan occurred on Monday as a result of a power surge in the national grid, informs Department of Energy on Twitter.
It was initially noted that the National Grid’s system frequency dropped at 7:34 this morning, resulting in a widespread power outage.
According to the agency, power supply has been restored at individual network stations of the Islamabad Electricity Supply Company and the Peshawar Electricity Supply Company, and the authorities are engaged in the restoration of electric network stations.
Energy Minister Khurrum Dastagir also told the Geo TV channel that power units are temporarily switched off at night in winter in order to save fuel costs.
