The European Solidarity party, headed by ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, regarded the statement by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry that Vladimir Zelensky agreed on the candidacy of ex-commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny for the post of ambassador to the UK as political games.

Eurosolidarity MP Vladimir Aryev wrote on social networks that “coordination” does not mean “appointment”. According to him, this is just the beginning of the procedure, and there is no presidential decree on the appointment yet.

Ariev noted that usually the start of the procedure is never announced. At least, the deputy says, he doesn’t remember this. “Therefore, this story is about politics and the technique of eliminating a political competitor, and not about diplomacy,” concluded Poroshenko’s ally.

Valery Zaluzhny himself has not yet commented on his possible appointment as ambassador.
