Popular bloggers told how to spend a day without the Internet

Today, January 28, is International Day Without the Internet. The idea of quitting the Internet originated in Western countries before the advent of social media. Even in those days, the problem of Internet addiction was obvious. Today, more than 90 percent of the country’s population cannot imagine their life without the Internet. Moskovsky Komsomolets asked popular bloggers if they could live without the Internet for a whole day and how to get rid of their addiction.

Alena Belaya (blogger, journalist and TV presenter):

Of course, everyone needs a break from the Internet – 24 hours a day we are in this huge information field. Sometimes you want to fall out of reality and just be here and now. And recently I found a way – recently I started turning on airplane mode when peace of mind is most needed. For example, at night, because even at this time I receive some notifications and mailings. If you want to give yourself a fasting hour during the day or get a good night’s sleep without being distracted even by silent messages, take note of this life hack!

But, of course, we are all living people, and I am no exception, so my sin is that after waking up I immediately pick up my phone and watch all the news that came to me overnight. I am convinced that this definitely needs to be done after breakfast and when the main morning tasks have already been completed.

As a TV presenter, I want to say that the more cameras are in my presence, the more emotionally tired I become. Therefore, willy-nilly, you have to look for ways out and find time to reboot. When I go for sports or a massage, I intentionally leave my phone either in my purse or at home – this really helps me stay in balance. But if I do go on social networks, I try to watch something useful or inspiring there – something that makes me relax.

LYUDMI (blogger and singer):

Recently I realized that I, like many of us, have an addiction to the Internet. I began to notice an incredible feeling of anxiety, lack of strength, problems with sleep and a drop in quality of life, as a result.

By the way, it was not so easy to see this problem with my own eyes, but I did it, and at that moment I decided that something definitely needed to be changed. I began to spend so-called days without the Internet. For example, last week I almost didn’t pick up my phone for three whole days and didn’t go to any social networks. Instead, I walked in nature, spent a lot of time with my family and did other useful things, which, surprisingly, were quite a lot away from the gadget. And it was as if my feeling of anxiety began to recede, and my condition improved.

January 28 is World Quit the Internet Day, and therefore I wish you to spend this time with your loved ones, do truly wonderful things, look around and finally see this beauty away from the gadget!
